i) Peer- to -peer learning
- In this strategy people are influenced to think and act conform to the way others whom they consider to be their peer think and act.
-It’s always possible to change a person’s mind about something to change his / her behavior in some way by removing an individual from a familiar context.
-People will learn certain things from each other and as a result gain skills and then of doing this things.

ii) Facilitated organizational development
-The goal of development is the improvement of human well-being and the quality of life in the organization development is and should be centered on human being.
-Change agencies use these strategies to build community capacity since few development projects succeed entirely on their own and even those that seems to be doing well must be helped to do even better by a timely injection of advice, training and funds as a result the local community gain skills, ken and ability to develop on their own.

iii) Research
-Change agencies build community capacity through research. They involve members of a community in research by making them ask themselves some questions share whatever ken and information they have and think about ways of getting more facts and other information they feel they need. By involving the community members in research the change agents develop the member’s capacity building to identify problems, find their causes and find possible solutions for such problems.

iv) Publishing
-It involves writing and printing reading materials on various objects and aspects for community members to read and gain ken that can foster their own development through them.
-The materials provided for reading are usually ones that create awareness to community members and encourage and motivate them to take responsibility of their own development through them.
-The materials needed for training for reading are usually notes that create awareness to community members and encourage and motivate them to take responsibility of their own development, however, this strategy is efficient where a large number of community members are illiterate.

v) Training and Academic study
-Training and education for self -reliance /capacity building development is easily achievable. The change agents together with the members of communication choose venues in the communication where training can be done and among the members has to go for educational or academic tour.
-Through training activities a better understanding of the real nature of community members being involved in betterment activities attained are attained even through members of a community have the potential for researching the problems and decisions they need training and academic activities to nurture and develop this potential.
-The development of this community members’ is what is called capacity building.
-Training is usually broad based touching on such areas as communication, leadership skills, project management, health education, agriculture, book keeping etc.
-The idea is to provide community members the basic ken and skills about various aspects of development projects.
-Some change agencies involve consultancy and professional training forms, the government and individual experts to provide more skills.
