1. Training needs assessment
Training needs/assessment is aimed at assessing training or devil needs of community, individuals and organizations.
Self -assessment is meant to identify strength, potential and group cc. The teaming obtained from this assessment utilizes the intervention which a community will work gently with others to draw a joint argument for development. The process of training needs assessment and interactive participating members debate and discuss each need. Any analysis is based on the values and purpose of empowerment. A vision should be commonly understood looked as at a source of motivation and re-enforce community focus.
In analyzing the need of a community should form a strategy bearing in mind the following aspect. i. Formulation of a training strategy
ii. Community Participation in the strategy
iii. Extinguish the changes that may affect the environment of an empowerment.
Training for the purpose of development needs a structure where the roles are related duration of decision making is known, interaction with the community is established and action plans meant to develop empowerment.
The change agents must also asses the management in the following ways.
a. Looking and checking the leadership whether it’s effective on non-affective.
b. Decision making is- is to check whether the decision will be based on will or loose basis.
c. Governance- this is to check whether its committed particular and discipline
d. Staff development- Whether it’s using the potentiality of people, competent training and appraisal.

f. Financial management – This involves looking at existence of financial system budgetary planning, accounting procedure, records and financial reports.

2. Identification of the target group
A target group is the one the change agents want to work with
They are identified in terms of needs they require
They change agents look at the skills and ken, their learning skills how they fit the community. They should include women and men.

3. Categorization of trainees
How do I categorize trainees?
• Level of recognition
• Level of comprehension (ability to understand /comprehend)
• Application level (Apply the identified practical)
• Synthesis level (rate at which one absorbs information)

4. Identification of trainer trainee
All the above methods depend on the level of thinking. A trainer should be more much knowledgeable than trainee. This is to enable him/her to facilitate as a senior manager of the organization. The trainer must be qualified and have the ability to be more practical.
Personal attributes should include maturity, motivation/motivation techniques etc.
Experience will only be important at senior level
Qualities of a good facilitator leader
- Should relate well with trainees
- Should have respect, knowledge and experience
- Should be well versed with the real problems that face the group
- Should be sensitive to the needs of the group
- Must have skills on the ongoing training and updating
- Should be able to offer clarification where possible
- Must be knowledgeable on the subject and the content of discussion on in question

5. The process of planning for the training
1. The objective must be well defined
2. The content of the activity that will assist in the achievement of the objective must be discussed and designed
3. The methods of passing information on the content area must be deliberate

6. Implementation of the training
This is where the training activity is put into practice; it can also be achieved by different techniques e.g. demonstrations, lectures, presentations, transformations of case studies, group discussions, and role played, dramas, stories, work groups

7. Monitoring and evaluation for training
One of the most important activities is monitoring and evaluation. This includes collation and analysis of data to compare the progress of the activity while evaluation is periodic assessment and reviews of the programmer to check its effectiveness.
Importance of evaluation
i. It forms a feedback of what was attained in the program
ii. It provides an opportunity for correction in case there was an error
iii. It’s a symbol of program existence
