• Behavioral modeling-
This is where one copy’s from demonstration and role play to enhance interpersonal skills. The trainees specified action plan for behavior guidelines once they are back to their job.

• Case study and discussion-
These are descriptions of events that have occurred over a period of time with incidences that can be cited and be trained from. In some cases long detailed background of information are required for the leaders to learn from.

• Business games and simulations-
This is where the trainees deal with the consequences of their decisions by comparing similar situations from various aspects from a previous aspect.

• The leader is expected to give a feedback after learning through the above methods. H/she is required to exhibit learning experience from the amount of challenge he/she will get.

• The leader is able to get/ face variety of tasks/ assignments , relevant feedbacks and development activities

• A leader is expected to mentor from a source of experienced managers and leaders.

A mentor provides distinctive functions;
a. Psycho-social functions- This deals with acceptance, encouragement, coaching, counseling etc.
b. Carrier facilitation functions e.g. sponsorship, protection, challenging, assignment etc.
• Coaching
- It gives trainees relevant skills of learning
Gives advice on how to handle specific challenges
Provides unusual opportunities to discuss issues
