Faith
(a) Domination
This is a style of dealing with conflict derived from the disposition of people to assert themselves in situations. Here, there is little or no interest in the wellbeing or interest of the other person (or party) i.e. it is all about the person and the person alone. In a given conflict then, one party that is assertive tries to totally ?eclipse? the other party. In a way, it is an attempt to deny the rights of the other person. The primary motivation in domination is the desire to win, and therefore, make the other party lose. Thus, the assertive party behaves in a manner to suppress the views of the other party by using strong arguments or emphasizing its rank or economic position. This approach to handling conflict can hardly lead to a lasting revolution of the conflict. Even if the assertive person ?succeeds? in ?winning? the case, there is a tendency that the ?resolution? will leave behind ?grudges? in the other party. Accordingly, whenever the opportunity arises, that party would express discontent, which would possibly lead to the ?re-opening? of an old wound. This style of handling conflict is rooted in power relationships where one party perceives that it has more power over the conflict issue than the other party or parties. Dominance is deliberately selected either as an attitude, or because in the opinion of the domineering party, the others have no capacity to respond adequately to the power being displayed by the dominant party.

(b) Avoidance
Individuals avoid conflict by flight or running away denial or withdrawal from a conflict solution .This is a negative conflict response as it leads to a lose situation among all the parties in conflict.

(c) Accommodation
This is willingness to give the other what they want by going along group rather than own beliefs and convictions. This is a lose-win situation because one party gives in to demands of another with least consideration of his/her interests or needs.

(d) Competition
It is the use of force to overpower others in decision making or any other action /activity in order to get what one wants by all means. The aim is to win and make the other party lose by placing high value on ones opinion and desires and very little on those of the other party. This translates to a lose-win situation.

(e) Compromise
This is where complicity parties settle partial satisfaction of their own concerns by winning a little and the same time. This brings about a win-win situation to the parties.

(f) Collaboration
Here parties in conflict strive to satisfy their concerns for looking for best alternatives, which would bring maximum benefits that leave them satisfied. This culminates to a win /win situation.
