What is a Prepaid Income?

This is income that is not yet due but cash has been received for it. This is income paid in advance. Prepaid income should not be reported to the income statement (profit and loss account) thus deducted from the reported income therefore should be carried forward to the next financial period. Prepaid income is treated as a current liability in the balance sheet.
