-Communication according to Arnoff and Baskin (1980) is the exchange of messages between people for the purpose of achieving common meaning. Katz and Khan (1978) define communication as the exchange information and the transmission of meaning.

Types of Communication
i. Verbal communication
-The written or oral use of words to communicate.
-Written communication occurs through a variety of means, such as letters, office memos, reports, written telephone messages newsletters, emails, manuals etc.
ii.Non-verbal communication
-Is communication by means of elements and behaviours that are not coded into words?
Studies by Birdwhistell (1970) estimate that non-verbal aspects account for between 05 and 93% of what gets communicated.
