Outline three types of punishments given to students at school

Answers

Faith

1.Retributive Punishment
This refers to punishment as a matter of retaliation. This type of punishment should be commensurate with the offence.
2.Deterrent Punishment
This type of punishment is used to scare offenders and hence minimize a possible increase in the same misbehavior.
e.g. if a student is found guilty of copying answers in the exams, she/he should be disqualified from the whole exercise.

3.Reformative Punishment
This type of punishment is used with the intention to reform the culprit. E.g. a child who is prone to minor offences at school could be transferred to another school hoping that the new environment and culture could change his/her positively.
