i. A biochemical compound is a carbon-based compound that is found in living organisms.
ii. A chemical bond is the sharing of electrons between atoms. Bonds hold the atoms together in chemical compounds. A carbon atom can form bonds with other carbon atoms or with atoms of other elements.
iii. Each of these classes of compounds consists of large molecules built from small subunits. The smallest of these subunits is called a monomer.
iv. Polymers are large molecules that consist of many smaller, repeating molecules, called monomers.
