i) Skills in recognizing and diagnosing a problem: The close relationship between strategy and implementation can pose difficult diagnostic problems when marketing programs do not fulfill their expectations e.g. was the low sales results of poor implementation or strategy. Also determining what the problem is or what should be done about it (action).
ii) Skills in assessing the company level where the problem exists: There are three levels i.e. carrying out a marketing function successfully. Another level is implementing a market program that has to blend marketing functions into a coherent whole. 3rd level is that of implementing a market policy.
iii) Skills implementing plans: the four skills include allocating, monitoring, organizing and interacting.
i. Allocation skills are used in budgeting resources.
ii. Monitoring skills are used to evaluate the results of the marketing function.
iii. Organizing skills are used to develop effective working organization.
