1. Product or unit policies
These are units that regulate individual product or a group of products produced within an organization.
2. Organization policies
Policies that relate to the activities of one organization or a group of departments
3. Industrial policies
They regulate or guide activities of a given industry or a number of organizations that produce similar or substitute products,
4. National policies
They regulate the activities undertaken within a given state. May include presidential directives, acts of parliament, ministerial policies etc.
5. International policies
They govern relationships between two or more states. May include political policies, trade policies etc.
6. Global policies
They govern relationships between territories trade zones continents etc.
