a. Need: Thought: First, information exists in the mind of the sender. This can be a concept, idea, information, or feelings. The goals of communication can be, (1) Convey information (2) Assure understanding (3) Get action (4) Persuade (5) Relationship.
b. Encoding: The need is transformed into message through words and symbols
c. Channel: A tool/medium of communication is selected and the message is packaged in the medium
d. Decoding: The receiver translates the words or symbols into a concept or information that a person can understand.
e. Feedback: the receiver communicates back to the sender that the message is received correctly or incorrectly.
