Mathematics contains the components of a language i.e.
- Vocabulary
Mathematics vocabulary consists of alphabets and symbols which may be stated in words to form
sentences e.g. 3+5=8 is a sentence which communicates a complete idea.
- International rules.
Mathematics grammar and syntax rules are international. No matter where you go the number system is the same, the symbol are interpreted the same.
- community
Mathematics is used to communicate all over the world. Every one who understands Mathematics
becomes part of that community.
- Is tool of communication
Some information is better understood only when in Mathematics form. E.g a financial report or
statistical data.

Science.
Mathematics is considered a science because;
- Math just like other sciences uses testable ideas. E.g. the circumference of a circle is pD can be tested by manually measuring a circle and comparing it with the results from calculating using pD.
- Proof
Science highly relies on proof and evidence. Mathematical concepts also need proof to be legitimized.
- Research
Just like other scientists, Mathematicians are also involved in research to further development of the subject.
