I. The learner
The learner is considered the most important element of the teaching and learning process.
This is because the learner is the chief beneficiary of the process and the reason why the teaching is taking place.

II. The teacher
The teacher plays a great role in the process which include, setting learning objectives, selecting and organizing learning resources, organizing and maintaining order in the learning environment.

III. Teaching and learning resources
These include text books, chalkboard, laboratory equipment etc. which aid the process of learning.

IV. The learning environment
For learning to take place, the environment must be conducive and supportive to learning e.g.
classrooms should be located in a calm area with minimal noise to allow concentration

V. The content/subject matter
This is actual matter that is to be studied. It should be well organized, sequenced and presented in the best way that will suit the learning needs of the learner.
