In a photoelectric effect experiment, light was directed incident to a metal surface. The wavelength of the light was then doubled maintaining the intensity constant. Explain the resulting effect to:
(I) Photoelectric current
(ii). Kinetic energy of the Photoelectrons.
(iii). Work function of the metal.

(I). This halves the frequency lowering the current.
(ii). The velocity of the Photoelectrons reduces hence reducing the kinetic energy of Photoelectrons.
(iii). if frequency reduces below threshold frequency, then the work function would not be met. If the frequency is still above the threshold frequency, Photoelectrons will still be produced.
