Heuristic strategy also referred as Discovery/ Facilitation or Experimental strategy, involves indirect instruction where the teacher facilitates learning by posing questions, guiding,
indicating sources of information and sharing ideas, problems and solutions. The teacher takes the role of a facilitator while the learner is an active participant in the learning process where
he/she is expected to discover and retrieve the information. The leaner finds out information for themselves while the teacher assumes a non-directive role. Teaching methods which fall under
this strategy include laboratory experiments, simulation, question-answer, simulation, question
and answer, programmed instruction; play way, discussion, fieldtrip and learner demonstration.
