a. Volume of a pyramid = 1/3 x base area x height
=1/3 x 9 x9 x 20
= 540 m^3
b. The volume of the pyramid cut from the larger one
Volume of a pyramid = 1/3 x base area x height
From the ratio of the two heights thus
h1/h2 =10/20
L1/L2 =X/9
X/9 = 10/20
X =4.5 m
Volume of the small pyramid
=1/3 x 4.5 x 4.5 x 10
= 67.50 m^3
Volume of the frustum
=540 – 67.50
=475.50 m^3
