1. Cover – arrangement of a place setting for one person; dinner plate is generally in the middle of the
cover. Allow 20 -24 inches of space for each cover
• Set the table with what is needed for the meal. Flat ware is arranged in the order it is used, starting at the outside and working toward the center
2.TABLE CLOTH
• Pull the chairs away so go can walk around the table freely.
• Lay the silence pad down and cover with the tablecloth.
• Make sure that all the sides are hanging true.
• Align the needed chairs so they are spaced evenly down the side of the table.
• Now sight the chairs that are across the table from each other.
3.PLACE MATS
• Use last step from above.
• Center the place mat on its chair.
• The edge of the mat should be 1/2 inch from the table's edge.
• If you have the large mats the flatware goes on the mat.
• If you have the small English type the flatware goes on the table

2. The rule of thumb: the plate should be 1 inch from the table edge (use thumb)
3. Bread/ Butter plate – top left above the salad plate
4. Salad plate – lower left, above the napkin
5. Soup bowl – on plate or separate
6. Cup/saucer – separate or glassware
