i. Naturalistic observation: Observing behaviour as it unfolds in natural settings, i.e. observe behaviour in a natural setting (the typical environment in which a person or animal lives).
ii. Correlational method: Making measurement to discover relationships between events, i.e. there is a positive relationship between high school grades and college grades
iii. Experimental method: investigating behaviour through controlled experimentation to identify cause and effect relationship, i.e. an experiment group are exposed to all conditions except hunger.
iv. Survey: Public polling techniques used to answer psychological questions. People in representative sample are asked a series of carefully worded questions. A representative sample is a small group that accurately reflects a larger population
v. Clinical Method: Studying psychological problems and therapies in clinical settings. Case studies (an in-depth focus on a single subject) may sometimes be thought of as natural clinical tests (accidents or other natural events that provide psychological data).
