Oral Approach is the use of spoken language and lip-reading to communicate
with the hearing impaired. The emphasis here is laid on the acquisition and use of
spoken language and lip reading skills.
ii. Oral/Aural Approach
Oral/Aural Approach is the use of speech, lip-reading and amplification to
communicate with the hearing impaired. The emphasis here is on maximum
utilization of the residual hearing using amplification from hearing aids.
iii. Auditory Verbal approach
Auditory-Verbal Approach is an approach designed to train a learner to use hearing
through a hearing aid or cochlea implant for the purpose of understanding and
producing speech.
