Discuss the emerging trends in eco-tourism

1. New spots open for wildlife tourism
During decades it has been Africa and its wonderful natural parks that has dominated the scene of wildlife observation (with its positive and negative consequences). Latin America (with amazing destinations in Brazil, Argentina or Colombia) is now hot in the landscape, but she is not alone: Europe itself is emerging as a world-class destination for wildlife tourism, as decades of nature conservation efforts are starting to render results.

2.Last- chance Tourism
Propelled by the imminent effect of the climate change originated damage. As well as other
policies not helping the environment at all, this type of tourism is on the absolute rise and according to Alexandra Talty in Forbes magazine might be “the” trend of 2018. Millenials are drawn to see these places or endangered species before they disappear. While at it, trying to preserve as much as possible. Not something we like to think about or encourage, but there it is.

3. Wellness eco-tourism
Yoga cruises aboard wooden ships with vegan menus, eco retreats for detox, learning
permaculture while cycling…the sea brings health and wellness. Contributing to bring back
health and wellness to the sea is only consistent with the old mantra - 'what goes around comes around'. This idea is at the core of new projects currently trying to unveil the connections between Ocean and Human Health. We can expect wellness and coastal tourism operators to become increasingly committed to Ocean conservation, as part of a 'Health for All mission'. This is our mission too!

4.Achievement Based Travel
With the normalization and almost mandatory creation of personal bucket lists, a lot of travelers are in great need of having an ultimate goal in their travels…be it climbing the Kilimanjaro, sailing the seas in search of the epic basking shark, adventuring through Norway while racing or the good spiritual pilgrimage as in “el Camino de Santiago”. Yet again, these motivated and conscious travelers look at ways to make memories without leaving toxic prints behind.
