a) Socializee:
This is the person being socialized. It can either be a new born child, a recruit to the army, a freshman to college or a new student/pupil in a school or a new employee.

b) Socializer:
This is the person doing the act of socialization. These are parents, peer groups, community, teachers, church members and employers.

c) Environment:
Socialization cannot take place in a vacuum. It must be in a social setting such as in the family, school etc. The socializer and socializee interact with one another in an environment.
