Advantages
There are various advantages to this structure. Some of these are:
a) There is job satisfaction. Teachers have a strong feeling of prestige because of their participation in decision making processes. Consequently, they work hard to ensure the school is successful.
b) Teachers feel recognized and appreciated. The head teacher inter-acts more directly with subject teachers and allows them a say in the administration of the school. He/she recognizes the contribution of each individual teacher. Teachers, therefore, feel free to discuss in1-provements that can be made to their subject areas. They are happier than those in hierarchical structure schools.
c) Motivation is very high because teachers are consulted. Teachers are more involved in administrative duties and thus take responsibility. There is a feeling of prestige.
d) There is less friction and suspicion regarding access to the head teacher.

Disadvantages
Despite its advantages, this structure has various disadvantages:
a) Productivity can be low if the system is poorly managed. Teachers can become so free with the head teacher to the extent that academic standards are compromised.
b) Excessive freedom in decision making can lead to divergent views that may affect the smooth running of the organization.
c) Teachers can lose sight of the target or goal of the school
