1. Oral Articulations:
These are the articulations that take place in the oral cavity.

2. Pharyngeo-Laryngeal Articulations:
These are the articulations that are made within the pharyngeo-laryngeal cavity.

3. Nasal Articulations:
The nasal cavity has no points of articulation. Nasal articulations have their points of articulation in the oral cavity. The nasal cavity is only used as an air path or route; that is air is impeded in the oral cavity but escapes through the nasal cavity. There are only seven human nasal sounds.
