Devolution is the act of transferring power and funding from national government to local government. As in Kenya the national government has given its power to the county government.Corruption is the act of acquiring resources in excess of what is required.
In employment sector leaders in office tend to charge a certain fee from the job seekers so that they can acquire the job this has been witnessed during police recruitment exercise where some people pay up to sh.200000.
The county government administrators tend to misuse the funding from the national government since the money is given to them so that they budget for it especially in Kenya Nyamira County it was reported that sh.5000000 was used to built which is not realistic.
The tax collecting body in Kenya has experienced rampant cases where the leaders in charge tend to collect extra money from the citizens this has been experienced in Kenyan borders where they charge extra fee to allow illegal entry of goods into the country.
The members of parliament also practice corruption as they are given that opportunity to access the resources and funds an example is CDF which is allocated to fund students who cannot afford to pay for the fee. They do propose some projects where they are given money to establish them and they end up squandering the money into their pockets.
I strongly propose that devolution is the course of corruption in our leaders. Were it not the power in their hands corruption could have been minimised.
