Originated from Mt. Kamalinga in the North West of Lake Turkana.
By the 17th Century they were moving southwards, settling on the slopes of Mt. Elgon, which formed a major dispersal point.
Bok, Bongomek and Kony remained around Mt. Elgon.
Pokot and Sebei migrated to the north and northeast of Mt. Elgon.
Largest group moved east and settled around Aldai.
Nandi remained at Aldai as the ancestors of the Marakwet,Keiyo, Tugen,Terik and Kipsigis migrated into their present homelands.
