Discuss the typological universals

The idea of linguistic universals is the brain child of Greenberg (1963).Greenberg carried out a study of 30 languages from different language families across the world and his findings revealed that there are some rules which govern the way languages work. He came up with the concept of typological universals. Researchers who use this approach to study language universals search for linguistic similarities and differences in all the languages spoken in the world.
