A) i) A Wide Area Network(WAN) is best for this building. this is since it can provide for the large number of users sufficiently and also, its working capacity is favorable for the large amount of jobs done there, that is the speed, amount and researches which requires a strong networking type.
ii) Other facilities we also need in that building includes:
- mobile desks and seats due to the movements in the room.
- fans and enough ventilation in the room due to the heat produced by the machines as well as the congestion and movements by thew workers.
- dumping bins for proper disposal of wasted papers and other things like ink bottles and such like.
- tight security which may include;- strong grills on the windows, CCTV cameras, reinforced walls, reinforced doors and many more, this is to ensure theft cases of the machines is highly covered.
- A backup generator for use in case there is electricity serge in order to prevent for the great works done within it.
- Enough lighting in the room to avoid accidents due to the big computer hardware and the large numbers of liveware within the system.
- improved monitoring of the staffs since due to the large number of the workers, some may tend to be malicious stealing and destroying machines.
- dust absorbing floor to prevent dust from entering the computers
B) i) A Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) is more effective here since the number of staffs is not great but the work still is great. this is due to its ability to provide for the less mobile workers with power taking into account that their movement may cause problem if wired networks is used.it is also cheaper compared to the WAN.
ii) Other facilities required in this room may include:-
- reinforced doors for security of computers
- Reinforced walls for the security of the computers
- clean air circulation, fans and enough ventilation for the health safety of the livewares
- back up power source in case of power failures.
- dust absorbing carpets to avoid dust in the room
- security cameras for the surveillance of the area under and outside the roof.
- fire prevention measures like fire extinguishers and any other form of fire prevention
C) i) A Local Area Network(LAN) is more suitable in this room since less networking work is required, it is cheap and considering the nuimber of workers at a time in the area, its speed is still sufficient.
ii) The other facilities required may include:
- seats and desks(permanent.)
- entertainment like televisions or table screens or viewing while the workers meet for meals or for lodging purposes.
-Enough water due to the massive use such as showering, cleaning, and drinking.
-Treatment facilities since it is at a quiet place during working hours, its is cool and convenient.
- beautiful coloring and backgrounds that will make it a comfortable place for the workers during meals hours and lodging times.
- Wall clocks to make sure that despite the comfort in the place, workers are also considerate of time as they are required to always report to work at or before the scheduled time.
- Back up power sources to avoid use of forgone methods of preparing meals which may lead to time wastage during meals taking.
- shades where workers may rest in case of fatigue or when taking rests and relaxing.
D) i) A Metropolitan Area Network(MAN) is required since he area between the buildings is big and within which a great number of workers including from all the buildings are using to communicate.
ii) the overall network will be provided by use of a strong router which can link the three buildings, having a single server in the main building (A) to monitor and direct the messages and signals to the required destination. the company will also provide for check ups to avoid any form of failure in the system.
