- The essence of the hierarchy is that a worker will not be motivated by any higher level needs until his/her lower-level
needs have been satisfied.
- Once a lower-level need is satisfied, a worker will seek satisfaction at the next level.
- A project managermust understand the needs of all members of the team in order tohelp them perform at their best.
To do this, the project manager must understand where on the hierarchy a team member is currently located.
