The rise of mobile phones has a huge tall on this rising loneliness in the society. Apparently, most people have a photograph or a video of their person of interest in their mobile phones beside their contacts; they can hence look at their picture and then call them, thereby making some contact. Unfortunately, this comfortable life is going us to grow more dependent on the technology and looser on the personal relationship between us. According to research, the average American youth spend 4.7 hours per day on their phones. This time is used to interact with others, engage in social media and play phone games. If the phones were not there, that time would have been used to talk to friends, travel of visit loved ones. Even though, many prefer to spend it on their phones, unknowingly, growing lonelier. The rise of robots has astonished the modern world as well. Nowadays, there are robot pets and companions. These robots have been programmed to learn and show emotion, thereby making the perfect company for most people. This means that a person can have an electronic dog, house help a bond, or companion, to spend time with them and create a relationship. In other words, these robots are replacing the human beings and various other creatures, replacing them with the ‘modernized versions.' As if that is not enough, research goes on day and night, to establish more intelligent robots, thereby replacing the humans even more efficiently. Although technology enhances life, the loneliness it is creating among us is intolerable and uncouth to the society. With all these factors in mind I repost my concern; is technology making us lonelier? Many will refute this claim, saying that technology links people and ensures that each can keep tabs on the other even if they are not in a position to visit then. The truth is not far from this because this loneliness arises due to the habit of various members of the society not being able to visit each other. As long as one can make and receive a call, they think less of physical presence, thereby making them more and more distant from each other. This is loneliness brought about by the advancement and the laziness it brings various members in the society. In the modern society, everything is very easy; communication, shopping, booking of hotels and embassy clearance. Apparently, people are spending more and more time alone in their houses, as all that would make them move out can be obtained online. There are fewer interactions, lesser bonding and investment of more time on their smartphones and computers.Technology is informative, all the people in the society remained well informed and connected to the outside world, but their physical presence is greatly ignored and given less attention. It has led to the growth of human beings into lonely beings with less contact between each other. Some people are spending more time on their phones than on their jobs. This technology is therefore not only a threat to our relationships but our jobs as well. Due to this, the society needs to grow more dependent of the traditional face to face interaction, other than depending on the uncertainty of technology. If we on the same trend, in the next fifty years, we shall be mere robots with less physical contact and more dependence on the technology for activities we do not need technological assistance. Therefore, it is imperative that technology is making us lonelier.
