1. Have something to say.It is important to have something to say that is worth saying.You can write well only if you are interested in the topic.A best essay is a combination of facts and opinions.It is only when you know your subject matter well and are keen to express your personal opinions on the topic that you will be able to write a good essay.2.Collecting the material.In an examination you will not be allowed to refer to books therefore you will have to rely on your previous knowledge so jot down on paper anything related to the topic.3.Planning the essay.The plan of an essay consists of brief notes indicating the topic of each paragraph.this plan should be prepared by selecting and arranging the facts or ideas that have been jotted down.Some of these jottings will have to be discarded if they do not fit into the plan.4.The introduction.The first paragraph is very important and often quite difficult to write.It should be short and concerned with the subject as a whole.A good introduction catches the interest of a reader.5.The main body.When you have aroused the interest of the reader your task is to hold it by ensuring that one sentence follows another logically,just as one paragraph should follow another naturally.Important points must be dealt with at greater length and in more detail than others.6.The ending.The last paragraph is as important as the first because the final impression left on the examiner depends on a satisfactory conclusion.The conclusion should leave the impression of finality in the reader.
