Are you passionate about the future of Kenya as a democratic country?Then here's your opportunity to join other young people in voicing your opinions. If you are aged between 18-24, this is your chance.Amkeni Wakenya (a UNDP facility that supports and strengthens the role of civil society in the deepening of democracy in Kenya) is giving you a chance to win $2500 through an essay competition presented in written or audiovisual format. The written essays in English should not be 3500. DVD Entries- either as individual or group- should be no more than 5 minutes, and should be original- could be in Swahili or English.Typed essays must be double spaced and in font size 12. If handwritten, please write legibly. DVDs should be original, not more than 5 minutes, and could be presented as a group project. The competition runs from 5th December to 12th January, 2012. Entries must reach Amkeni Wakenya offices by 4.00pm on Thursday 12th January.Each entry should address one of the following topics:1. What does the constitution mean for the youth of Kenya?2. Heroes or Heroines of our time: Who is your Kenyan hero or heroine? and what significant contribution have they made towards bettering our country?3. Do you think Kenya can achieve the MDGs by 2015? What are the obstacles to achieving the MDGs by 2015, and how can they be overcome?4. What role can the youth play in building a more democratic Kenya?5.
