1. When washing utensils, don't rinse them under running water because a lot of water gets wasted in the process.

2. You must learn to check your water bill for unusually high use. Your bill and water meter are tools that can help you discover leaks.

3. Always wash your fruits and vegetables in a pan or basin of water instead of running water from the tap.

4. Always collect the water you use for rinsing fruits and vegetables, then reuse it to water houseplants, or plants in the garden.

4. Make it a habit to check water storage facilities for leaks.

5. It's also important to shorten your shower time where possible.

6. Whenever you do laundry, match the water level to the size of the clothing to be washed.

7. It is also wise to save water by bathing your young children together.

8. When watering plants, water only when necessary. More plants die when you over-water them.

9. When watering plants, you must learn to pour water on the soil only as fast as the soil can absorb it. After this process, water will tend to accumulate on the soil making it soggy.

10. Whenever giving your pet fresh water, don't pour the old water away. Use it to water your your garden.

11. You can as well save water by washing your face or brushing your teeth while in the shower.

12. When you are washing your hands, don't let the water run while you apply soap on your hands. Turn the tap off, apply soap, then turn the tap on to keep washing your hands.
