In developed countries like the United States of America, computers have been utilized in politics and they have greatly changed the way political activities are conducted. Here are some of the roles played by computers in politics.1. Organization of data:Political statistical data are quite vast and may need an intelligent machine (computer) to process and give some useful output. Since time in history, computers have been known as the lord of data processing and handling, it is for this reason that politicians and related parties rely on computers for the organization of data.2. Analysis:Way before computers were a reality, political information was recorded, analysed and presented in tables on books which had the problem of bulkiness, nowadays these tables are computerised (spreadsheets) and a large amount of data can be stored, analysed and presented in an appealing manner with the use of computers.3. Disseminating information:With the availability of social networking websites like facebook and twitter, it's nowadays easy to exchange information through the vast political pages on these websites. Political candidates are able to get views from their supporters and in return air out their agenda. 4. Accessibility:A long time ago it was very hard for political candidates to meet and communicate with their supporters but with the introduction of computers the accessibility has been made easy and old methods like postal mail which are inconvinient and time consuming have been replaced with computers' e-mailing among others.Computers have also help curb the problem of cheating in elections where electronic voting is utilized.
