With the Vision 2030 at hand, many sectors in the Kenyan economy are eager to see the affirmative changes towards the realization of the Vision 2030. The government on the other hand has set goals for each sector one of them being the education sector. This sector is very vital especially in the social pillar of the Vision. With the Vision recognizing the importance of education in other sectors example health (by teaching preventive measures), sanitation and teaching better care for the environment, the government has set the following objectives towards the achievement of the Vision.

Provision of high standards trained skills.

The government aims at setting the bias of education towards more science and technology based courses. These courses are important in the perspective that they are able to cope with technological transformation hence provide job opportunities at the global market. The government also aims at making science and technology an integral part of all school training in Kenya, this will lead to the provision of modern science labs in schools.

Gender parity in school enrollment:

Just as the new constitution emphasizes on gender parity, the vision also aims at achieving gender parity in all school enrollment so as to achieve a better regional distribution of schooling opportunities.

Increase of school teachers:

The Vision carries the objective of accelerating training of teachers and increase employment of the same in order to ease the burden currently faced by teachers by lowering the student/teacher ratio.

Building of new schools:

The government aims at building 560 new secondary schools countrywide among these, is a model school in each constituency in order to raise performance standards in each of our constituency. The building of schools also aims at eliminating the conditions currently faced by schools in rural areas example North Eastern Province where some schools have some classes held

under tree shades. We should also put into consideration that these schools play an important role of providing inputs to post -secondary institutions.

More boarding schools for pastoral communities:

The pastoral communities are known to move from place to place as the seasons goes by. The government opts to build more boarding schools for these communities in order to curb the problem of compromising the education of their children.

More public institutions:

With the transition from secondary schools to Universities expected to rise by 15 percent towards the Vision, the transition of those who won't be able to make it to the University is also expected to rise. The government hereby aims at building more public institutions such as Technical Industrial Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TIVET), in order to provide educational opportunities for the lot that didn't make it to the Universities.
