The office is the central place where the activities of a business are controlled. Since the office is a physical room it is affected by various physical factors outlined below;

1. Lighting: Whether light is natural or artificial is has to be adequate for easy manipulation of work in the office. Adequate lighting facilitates easy movement and location of items in the office.

2. The noise: In order to promote efficiency, noise must be reduced to the minimum. Noise in an office could be from machines like printers and typewriters which alters concentration of the office occupants.

3. Heating: Must not be extreme hot or cold and temperatures must be controlled. Extreme cold or hot conditions causes the office occupants to be uncomfortable thereby leading to inefficient performance.

4. Ventilation: A good hygienic office should have adequate circulation of fresh air to avoid the spread of diseases that are favored by stuffy conditions.

5. Cleanliness: The office should be kept clean and tidy at all time in order to attract customers and ensure a healthy environment.

6. Decoration: It should have a good appearance that will not affect the staff example installation of flowers in pots and pictures on the walls.

7. Legal requirements: It should comply with the legal requirements of the law example safety measurements like installation of fire extinguishers, emergency exits and so on.
