There are many ways of tackling exam questions and various approach can help you to pass. Read the questions and instructions with care so that you only answer what you're actually asked and not what you think was asked. Avoid what is commonly referred to a "setting own question" where a student answers questions that were not set by the examiners. 1. Know the marks allocated to each question so that you can plan for your time and direct your effort to results. Allocate more time on questions that are easier and with more points. Time management is of the utmost importance. Set aside a portion of the time for each question. Try to catch up where you spend too much time on a particular question. 2. Look for the clues and the format of the answer in the question formats, not just content. 3. Easy questions can be more difficult than they appear, and questions that appear difficult could be easier than initially thought and thus one offer to watch out for such encounters. 4. Multiple-choice questions list several possible answers and ask you to choose the right answer. More than one answer could appear correct, but only one is correct and thus it is vital to scrutinize each answer carefully before making the choice. 5. When answering multiple choice questions, eliminate answers that are definitely wrong, or intended to trial or trap you and finally pick from the remaining answers. 6. Attempt all the questions as instructed since you are likely to get some marks for your attempt, which is better than no answer for unanswered questions. First, answer questions the questions where you know the answers; skip the questions where you cannot remember the answer-you may remember something about the answer later. Even writing only a few sentences may still gain you marks, so do answer them too. 7. Go over your answers, but if you running short of time leave the fully answered question and go for the partially answered ones.
