The primary purpose of education is to open the learners' mind to enable them to figure through a problem in a prudence manner. Education also makes people make informed decisions based on a certain body of knowledge. Many people attend school so that they can get a job at the end of the course. Furthermore, the Kenyan system of education is job oriented. It struggles to create job seekers but make no effort of generating job creators. As Kenyans talk with an enthusiast of vision 2030, we should not ignore the major part that education will play in the materializing of the long-awaited vision. The vision will not be realized if Kenya does not make the necessary efforts to train a skilled manpower. It is the role of the schools to tailor these engineers, doctors, teachers, pilots just to mention but a few. The ongoing strikes will slow down the process of realizing this dream. The government should act in haste to save the situation. The government should also revise the curriculum to create room for a system of education that trains people based on their talents and interest. All learning institutions should be upgraded to reach the required standards. In conclusion, the key to achieving vision 2030 is deeply rooted in education. Improving the education sector will push us a mile to attain vision 2030. All citizens of Kenya should be well informed about this dream. It should not be the topic of the learned and those in power.
