In order for your business to be successful you have to make sure that the structures are working efficiently and effectively. The structures to consider for your business to be profit making and successful are hiring structures, marketing structures, IT structures, accounting structures, training structures, accounting structures, sales structures among others. If your business is not making profit or not meeting your goal it means one of those systems is not working efficiently. You have to invest heavily in refining these systems so that you can gain and utilize every inch of the business. Expanding your business will mean more challenges but it will also mean more revenue for the business and you will find out that it was worth the time and energy in investing there. Here are some tests that you can carry out for your business to gauge the capability of your systems:1) Decentralizing the power of your business. You put the power of the business in the hands of the employees who have day to day interaction with the consumer instead of putting one manager to be in charge of every single activity in the business. The employees who are on the ground get in touch with the customers and are in a better position to monitor customer reactions and the market. They have to be considered in the decision making process because there contribution could be valuable in making the business to cater for customer needs and to adapt quickly in changes in the market.2) Collaborating technology to the business. This is a great way to know if your business is ready to move into the technological era. Using complicated software enables better service to the customer. You can use a simple method to run your business but when it is time to expand you will find that the simple methods employed are not effective in catering for your increased need. So engage your business in using technology and reducing the cost of production, instead of being labor intensive you can mechanize your operations to improve quality, efficiency and standardization of the products.3) Making your operations convenient to your employees. Mechanization that makes the work of employees easier and saves times to enable them engage in other activities that will make the business more profit. So when you have an opportunity to make your employees work easier by engaging in a new technology, take it and you will see increased efficiency in the employees’ performance because of the convenience provided by the machines.4) Automating your business. This is also another point in favor of technology. If you engage a system that makes repetitive work more efficient then you have made the right decision in your system.5) Carry out a test to see if the business systems are uniform in their operations. See if they work well together and if they are collaborating well to achieve a common goal. The communication channels are working and effective in passing of information.6) Are your systems capable of regulating themselves? In this term I mean are they able to carry out their activities efficiently for long periods of time without malfunction and in the event of not working properly are they capable of notifying the business owner in time? As a business owner you should consider these questions and address them appropriately.7) You should check if the systems in your business are relevant to your goal. When you decided to engage them what was the purpose of the system and is it advantageous to the business? You should not use a system because other businesses are using it, because what may be good for the goose may not be good for the gander. You should make sure that the system is relevant to your business. This will lead you to make more profit.
