In Kenya, gender disparities are reflected in education through unequal access to schooling, with more male than female students having access to schooling. In academic performance male students seem to perform better than females to proceed to higher levels in education. In society in general, there is under representation of women in major decision making bodies. However, the school can play a role in creating gender equality in society by giving all learners equal opportunities of advancement and by dispelling regressive beliefs through influencing and modifying attitudes. Issues related to gender roles and relationships have a direct impact on human development and education because, for national development to occur, men and women must have equal access to the resources and benefits of development. We need to focus more on gender related issues than just talking about these issues but not executing what is said. Kenya is still far from what we should call gender balance in almost all sectors. Proper considerations and implementation programmes should be put forward to address this issue and solve the talked about issue on gender inequalities. Are you sure Kenya is ready for this implementation?
