All of us are aware to some extent of the value of time. A business man knows that by adding some extra minutes to a days work he will equally add to his daily income from the business. A busy homemaker loves to see a successful day by carefully balancing her precious time to cook and shop. As a student struggles to see a fully utilized day in favor of his/her course study so do many people struggle to hit their daily targets. “Time is the nurser and breeder of all good.” William Shakespeare.

A mere awareness of the value found in our minutes and hours of our days is not enough. We must learn to control efficiently their passage. Every second, every minute and every hour of each day in a month or year should be fully utilized towards a useful purpose. I heard a man quote a famous parable that goes like “time is money” and it is then that I remembered another that depicts the lazy group of people in that “there is no hurry in Africa.” You really don’t need to listen to such people as of the later parable. Time is money. Yes it is. It is what would make one rich if used efficiently towards good goals or reduce one to poverty if not used diligently.

We need to convert time power in to life power. We win happier times by building happier attitudes to time itself. It is how we can stick firmly to our schedules and thus uplift our fortunes magically. Confused attitudes contribute the highest percentage to loss of time that could otherwise be spent in getting somewhere. The mind is a tricky rascal at times. In this self command is very important. We can regain our rightful mastery overtime by

being ruthlessly honest with our lives. We must frankly explore some of the reasons why we think we don’t have the time we need because we can’t win more time unless we first expose and rout those mental imps that rob us of our hours and days.

Time has and will never be on our side if we fail to take it seriously. All the same, when we know the value it holds and work towards it knowing what we want from it, we will be the masters of our time and life itself won’t have power over us. It is then that we will rule over time by being honest with our lives.
