To exercise your constitutional right and duty: it is the right of every Kenyan citizen who has attained the age of eighteen years old to vote the leaders of his or her choice. To be able to do so, one must be registered as a voter by the IEBC. It is your Constitution right. It is only through voting that one can get leaders who they feel will represent them fully as a President, senator, governor, MP or councilor Voting provides an opportunity to choose a leader of your choice. Kenyans decide who will be their leaders. Your having not been registered as a voter will bar you from exercising your constitutional rights. The law stipulates that only registered voters are allowed to vie for elections. Having been registered will give you an opportunity to represent other Kenyans.Registering you as a voter safeguard your rights and freedoms as provided for in the constitution. To give acceptability to leaders: By electing leaders of your choice, you give your consent to be led by whoever you have chosen and to reject those who fail to satisfactorily represent your welfare.Voting provides the opportunity to change leaders if possible judging them by their performance. Voters get the chance to elect new leaders where the previously elected ones are failing or to renew the obligation of those they consider to be good performers.Voting sets a good example to others. By participating in elections, you set an example for political involvement and responsibility for the younger generationVoting provides opportunities for social interactions. It is through social interactions that ideas and knowledge are passed from person to person. This help as to keep up an informed nation. I would like to urge everyone to register as a voter to reap its benefits.
