Yes, it is true that some years back, Kenya’s construction industry was not doing as expected. Many people were not fully convinced to put their efforts into coming up with buildings, homes, hotels, bars and other amenities. However, things have taken another turn. The urge to establish new construction projects has steadily grown to higher levels as everybody tries to bring up a house of his/her own. On the other hand, the government is also awake and committed to fostering great heights of development in different sectors. This calls for its involvement in seeing that most of the construction projects are successful. Owing that in mind, there are main reasons as to why the construction trend has drastically risen.

One of them is the security status of the nation. Surely, every person does hate the thought of losing his/her property due to chaos caused by insecurity or even ceasing to occupy a given area for the same reason. Now that Kibaki’s government has made sure Kenya is a safe place to conduct business in any capacity, even foreign investors feel welcome to put their efforts in the construction industry for a good return. The main point comes in the form of improved infrastructure and especially in terms of transport and communication. Having settled the issue of Thika road’s upgrading, people can now invest in construction projects because most of the parts surrounding the capital city have finally become accessible. This is in fact the top most reason as to why quite a good number of estates have sprout. The same case applies to most of the cities and towns all around the country.

Clearly, this is a sign that Kenya’s construction trend depends on extremely crucial pillars of economic development. Actually, this means that as the country’s economical channels continue to open

up, the construction industry will not cease to expand.
