(1)POVERTYPoverty has adversely affected most of the families across the northern Kenya thus affecting the studies of the children who will turn to be the bread winner of the families instead spending there time in the school.Most them are looking after their animals and lose many day not attending classes this will pave away for low grades(2)DRUGSA drug is a substances which affects the normal function of the body,some of the student tend to use this drugs like miraa known as khat,bangs and beer.The students using this drugs do not attend lessons most of the time they end up sleeping outside in the streets and some of them engage in robbery with violence and finally end up in jail(3)LACK OF REVISIONmost of the student in Northern Kenya do not revise for their exam and read books instead they usually sneak out of the school and spend most of their time in the town and following up local television programs.this is factor that has contributed to low performances by the students(4)TIME MANAGEMENTTime management simply means utilizing time for effective production like organizing the timetable well,following up extra lesson and keeping time and using it in a right way.Students tend to waste time in making a good,neat and well organised timetables,ending up in lack of preparation for their exams(5)NOT ATTENDING CLASSESWhen attending classes we make sure we do not miss the important concept taught by a teacher in different subject,this is not the case for northern student,they do not attend classes for some weeks or even a term losing most of the important topics discussed in classes and finally sitting for exams unprepared and thus leading to failures in national exams(6)TEACHERSmost of the teachers do not support the student and advises them on how to organize there work well and some of them do not attend classes to teach and lack of teachers in many schools thus leading to poor performances by students.
