The KCSE exam is probably the hardest hurdle in the 8-4-4 system.A lot of students dread it and passing is considered a great feat. However it can be passed. To pass your KCSE start preparing early. The exam tests the syllabus of four years therefore there is need to consider it right from form one.Starting early also enables you to recognize your weak areas and work on them. One also needs to cover the whole syllabus.Forget revision books and the like and concentrate on covering the full syllabus using the course book or main text book for the subject. This will help you fully understand the material from whichever angle the examiner tests it.This will need a lot of hard work and determination maybe even sleepless nights.Hard work never killed anyone so give yourself to the task fully. The result will be worth it.Break the material into small pieces and study it diligently.Visit Kenyaplex Exams section and revise using the provided educational resources.Identify your weak areas and work harder on them.Ask your teachers and fellow students to help you.Be persistent until you get the concept that is challenging you.Do not fear failure or what others think.Try and try until you get it right.Set clear goals of what you want to get.Break the goals down into small achievable feats and slowly but surely work towards your main goal.Having clear set objectives will help you to concentrate and focus on what is important.Revise revise revise. You can never study too much.Use past papers and questions to test yourself of the content you have read.Do as many of these as possible since practice makes perfect.Be disciplined, set rules for yourself and follow them.Set a timetable and follow it.Better the pain of discipline than that of regret.Identify what works for you and use it.Whether studying late at night or early in the morning.Remember to relax and exercise a bit as this will relieve you of stress. Cooperate and discuss with fellow students to help what you study to sink in.
