I agree with Griffiths, "There is no hope of doing perfect research". There may be hope for doing research, but then a perfect research entails a lot that cannot be overrated on a thin line. I however consider perfection to be relative in explaining the extent to which a research is done. If his meaning of perfection is ‘a piece of work without errors and omissions’ then count me in his argument. The relevant ideas or presentations made in a research paper are by a human being and we cannot describe any human being as perfect; without errors or mistakes.Research means ‘to search intensively’, which is not a mere search. One has to go deep into material details and come out with a fundamental masterpiece that presents particular ideas in resonate and overt form. The accuracy that any research should present with should prove competency in that particular piece of work. We have qualitative research; where one is expected to present an explanation of what and how things are from a report, then there is quantitative research; where scientific methods are applied in coming out with a methodologically consistent outcome. So why do we carry out researches? The purpose of a research work is to find out more facts, to test ideas or theories, to find out cause of problems and even for curiosity satisfaction among others. A researcher therefore goes out in the field to practically look for answers, seek knowledge and also to gather information related to a topic of study. These objectives are only achievable if proper investigations are carried out. Research therefore enables one to reaffirm information gathered from ideas and theoretical grounds. Today, the internet has given a new outlook in research. One is able to gather information from e-libraries and from the internet to come up with a decisive aspect of required information. The only material fact here is that one cannot fully authenticate internet sources if not for a few sources. This is to me a negating factor in research since no one understands what really is right and wrong from the internet. Sometimes it is just from an opinion and not verifiable information that a researcher bumps on.Research work requires relevant information. This is always hard to prove since a researcher is sometimes forced to gather information from a source least known to him or her. This has always proved to be misleading and contracting. Have you not heard of scientific concepts that contradict each other? It can be concluded therefore that research is growing and every time an individual comes up with one, another research is always done to prove the just concluded one. This is just a proof that research in its aspect of investigation investigates other concepts too and hence perfect research has no future. No human being can come out with a perfect piece of work. Human is to error and this just shows how the extent of bias that any research done can be. The interpretation of one person is and in most cases slightly deferring with others. This is why an individual will come up with his or her own concepts and try to prove them as real while another person also with another proven concept contradicting the same. According to Albert Einstein ‘If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?’ So it means we really don’t know what we go out for in a research until we get it. That is why everyone presents different answers.
