Though considerable steps have been taken to improve the enrollment of students in both primary and secondary schools, quality of education and results is what matters most; and for the record, results don't always mean quality! Various stakeholders have done their best in ensuring that their schools become among the best in the country. Though some consider quality to go hand in hand with the results, most just consider the "result" aspect of education. Schools have done their best in providing tips for students to be successful.

These tips, however, pay attention to exams rather than the skills and knowledge that will go a long way to ensure that the student is self sufficient in life and innovative. On the other hand, quality has not been given that much of a priority. Many students, after finishing school, are not able to view the world at an innovative and creative point of view. Yes, they do have papers but cannot bring anything new to the world. The papers, so to say, are only meant for employment.

What then has this resulted to? Well, the increased cheating in exams is one of the major concerns. Students in all levels of education have devised dubious methods to cope with the pressure of doing well in their examinations. Have we ever asked ourselves why there are so many writing jobs online today? Did we know that some students, even those pursuing a masters degree, go to some websites and order their assignments to be done for them? Did we even know that Wikipedia has assisted a lot more people to graduate? Faults may exist in our institutions but what matters most is the ability of the institution to prepare people for the future. This has been achieved to some extent but not to

the level its supposed to be. Syllabi take long times to be reviewed and as a result, not all sectors of education have coped with the current trends.

Also, students are majorly equipped with theoretical knowledge with little practicals. Furthermore, the system encourages students to take revision of questions more serious than the acquisition of knowledge. This then becomes one of the answers to the ever asked questions by fresh graduates: why do employers request for experience? The practicals are best through work experience, at least that's what it has become! What then do we do to improve the quality of education? If the mass can't do it, then we should do it at an individual level.

We should not be moved by mass current neither should we be kept afloat by mass momentum. We should take our stand and ensure quality within ourselves. You will be more happy to know that the results you have got are truly yours, even if they are not that pleasing other than pleasing results that are not yours. Coping with the current trends can also be done at an individual level through research. The government should also provide relevant facilities so that practicals are given more weight. It all starts with you then all of us follow.
