STYLES AND STYLISTIC DEVICES IN FATHERS OF NATIONS

a) DIALOGUE
? This is the most dominant style in the text. It is a direct conversation between two or more characters or a conversation between two different groups of people or a conversation
? Between an individual and a certain group of people in the text. It has mainly been used to activate and dramatize several conflicts in the text.
? There is dialogue between the guide (Mr.Abiola) and the four strangers who check in at the Seamount Hotel at Banjul. (Professor Kimani, Pastor Chiamaka, Comrade Melusi and Tahir) as he gives them the directives from AGDA (Pgs, 2,16,19).
? There is use of dialogue between the journalist Ms. Mckenzie and (the guide) Dr. Afolabi whereby Fiona calls Dr. Afolabi for the interview. (Pg4 -7)
? Dialogue happens between Tuni and her dad, Professor Kimani; in it he tells her about MPs.(Pg 23).
