Teachers of C.R.E and student will find it helpful as it outlines all the stories in saint Luke chapter after chapter, twenty four of the them and other gospels in New testament. Students can read them anytime anywhere. It helps students to do well in C.R.E contextual questions.

PREFACE
The critical study of Saint Luke and other selected gospels is the first book of its kind to be introduced in the studying of Christian Religious Education in secondary school. This book is designed for students and teachers in secondary school who want a comprehensive and reliable study of Saint Luke and other selected gospels.
The main objective why this book was written is to give a long lasting and permanent solution to the problem where students find it difficult to read and study Saint Luke as the main gospel in secondary school syllabus form two and selected gospels for other classes.
The author of this book is a seasoned teacher of Christian Religious Education (C.R.E). He is also an examiner contracted with Kenya National Examination Council (K.N.E.C), in marking of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education CRE Paper Two (313/2).The author has a well versed experience in handling candidate class with sterling performance in the subject.
Over the years from the author’s experience, students have never performed very well in paper two C.R.E (313/2), in KCSE. This has been ascribed to inadequate reading of Saint Luke and other gospels tested in secondary school syllabus. The final report from K.N.E.C for C.R.E Paper two (313/2) has always indicated the same problem every year.
This book therefore, will provide the permanent solution to Students and teachers preparing for their final exams .The book will enable learners and teachers to critically study, comprehend and analyze the numerous texts in Saint Luke and other gospels. The book also acts as a guide in studying Saint Luke and other gospels.
The book has been subdivided into three main parts.
PART ONE: The Old Testament prophecies concerning the coming of the Messiah. The author saw it necessary to study and give guidance on these prophets and their prophecies in order to form the basis of studying Saint Luke.
PART TWO: The study of Saint Luke. The major area of study, it has twenty four chapters, each chapter has been critically analyzed and proper guidance provided on how to study each chapter. All the chapters and verses are based on the Revised Standard Version of the Bible.
PART THREE: The study of other gospels. Apart from Saint Luke, the author also included other gospels to help learners to learn more about them and answer questions relating to these gospels.
The author would like to sincerely acknowledge the patience he got from his family members during the time of writing this book. Also, the author acknowledges teachers of C.R.E in Moi Kapsowar Girls’ Secondary School for their moral and inspirational support in the process of writing this book.
Furthermore, students of Moi Kapsowar Girls’ High school are acknowledged for their sincere and honest contribution on challenges they face in answering questions in Paper two C.R.E (313/2). These and many other challenges expressed by the students are solved in this book.
Special thanks also go to Reverend Richard Cherop (principal kapsowar school of theology). Reverend Cherop contributed immensely not only the material support but also inspiration in writing this book.
