CHAPTER 1
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Memon College first opened its doors in the year 1999 as a college providing accounting and basic IT related courses. Over the years, it has diversified into business and early childhood development education programs. It operates under the umbrella of the nasserpuna memon community.
For more than a decade, Memon College has held high standards in tertiary academics. At the core of their wide ranging academic inquiry is the commitment to attract and engage the best minds in pursuit if greater human understanding, pioneering new discoveries and services to society.

1.1.1 Mission of Memon College
To provide quality, affordable, accessible and relevant tertiary level education, delivered by dedicated professional terms, with values of heritage, excellence and teamwork.

1.1.2 Vision of Memon College.
To provide innovative educational environment far lifelong learning programs that enable individuals’ communities and region to prosper.

1.1.3 Goal
To strengthen and improve Memon College in its ability to provide quality education to the community.

The industrial attachment training is an essential component of the curriculum of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agricultural and Technology (JKUAT), faculty of Human Resource Development, Mombasa Campus. The Msc HRM programme will not be completed without the industrial attachment. The attachment period is usually a maximum of eight weeks, during which students are expected to acquire additional practical experience to supplement their course study in the university. They are also exposed to the real world of work and its challenges which will prepare them towards their future careers.
