Module Introduction
Meal management, planning and service module is designed to equip the learner with knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to develop a good understanding of nutrition, conduct their research project, plan supervise and participate in the preparation and administration of nutritional care to patients/clients, evaluate response to the care and give relevant advice.
The prerequisite modules include; Human anatomy and physiology, Principles of human nutrition, Nutrition in the Lifespan, Nutrition intervention in HIV & AIDS, Diet therapy I, Diet Therapy II, Diet therapy II.
The module takes 60 contact hours: 20 hours for theory and 40 hours for practicals
Learners undertaking this module will have both theory and practical assessments. Formative assessment will be in the form of continuous assessment tests, assignments, clinical and field assessments and promotional examination whereas summative assessment will be a final college qualifying (FQE) practical examination.
